Group Fitness Classes

Carthage offers a number of group fitness classes available for free to students and staff of Carthage. Classes are taught by certified Carthage students as well as outside professionals. To register go to www.imleagues.com/carthage and click on the Fitness tab.

Yoga

Dance Room

J-Term: Wednesday 5:00pm-6:00pm, Thursday 7:00am-8:00am

Spring: Monday 7:00pm-8:00pm, Wednesday 4:15pm-5:15pm
This flow yoga will help you relax, find your inner self, and increase stability and flexibility. A mix of poses, breathe awareness, core stability, and stretching will benefit participants of any fitness level. Please bring a yoga mat if possible.

TRX Suspension Training

Students use the TRX Suspension Trainer in the TARC's Semler Fitness Center in January 2014. TRX Suspension Trainer allows participants to use gravity and their own bodyweight to perform hundreds of exercises. Core stability and functionality are challenged throughout this self paced full-body workout.TARC Fieldhouse TRX Training Zone

Spring: Tuesday 5:00pm-6:00pm
Using your own body weight, these TRX straps can work muscles you never even knew you had! TRX Suspension Trainer allows participants to use gravity and their own bodyweight to perform hundreds of exercises. Core stability and functionality are challenged throughout this self-paced, full-body workout. Beginner and Advanced classes are offered. Individual needs and restrictions will be taken into account in both classes.

Cardio Kickboxing

Dance Room

J-term and Spring: Thursday 4:00pm-5:00pm, Small group on request. 
Learn basic boxing techniques and get a great workout with this cardio based kickboxing class. Participants will learn how to properly execute all skills on pads and bags. All equipment will be provided. Space is limited,

Spin

Semler Group Fitness Studio

J-Term: Tuesday 7:00am-7:45am, Wednesday 4:00pm-4:45pm

Spring: Maggie - Tuesday, Thursday 8:30am-9:15am Kyle - Monday, Thursday 5:00pm-5:45pm
This Spin class is perfect for beginners and seasoned cyclists. A mix of intervals and climbs will help you burn fat, build muscle, and have fun all at once. There are a limited amount of bikes so please register.

Plyoga

Dance Room

J-term: Tuesday 4:30pm-5:30pm

Spring: Tuesday 6:30pm-7:30pm 
This innovative and fundamental combination blends two fitness disciplines to give you results. Plyoga uses plyometric intervals to accelerate your performance and simple yoga postures for active recovery. This workout will make you stronger, more flexible, and burn fat. WERQ

Dance Room

Spring: Wednesday 5:15pm-6:00pm 
WERQ is a fiercely fun dance fitness class based on pop, rock, and hip hop music. The warm up previews the dance steps in class and the cool down combines yoga-inspired stretching and poses. Make sure you try this fun new way to WERQout!
