Dean Piepenburg called the meeting to order at 11:50 a.m.
Harvard Stephens delivered the invocation.
REPORTS OF COMMITTEES
Executive Committee - Matt Zorn
P&T members made the motions to make changes to the faculty handbook:
Promotion to Professor and Application for Sabbaticals. Motion carried
Curriculum Planning Committee - Richard Sperber
Motions made on the following CPC changes:
Proposed changes to the Environmental Science major- approved
Revisions to the Sociology Major- new courses- approved
Creation of a new Major in Art History – two new courses- approved
Changes to the Criminal Justice Major – new courses- approved
Quality of Life - Amy Haines, Wayne Thompson, Annette Duncan
Committee reported on activities of the committee including: focus groups with students of color – diversity circles- recruiting faculty participation, needs assessment for disabled students, Quality of Life nominations, Quality of Life Research Grants, and Student Activity awards.
Temple Burling - Heritage forum
Maria Carrig - second Humanities colloquium
Jim Ripley - Cantus rescheduled to May 18th.
