CARTHAGE COLLEGE FACULTY MEETING MINUTES
October 6, 2005
Dean Piepenburg called the meeting to order at 11:51 a.m.
Harvard Stephens delivered the invocation.
Minutes of the September 2, 2005 meeting were approved as written.
CONVERSATION WITH THE PRESIDENT
President Campbell reported that the fiscal year that just ended for the College was the strongest ever in its history. Enrollment has attained a new record of 2,148 students. All building and recruiting projects are going as planned.
REPORTS OF COMMITTEES
Matt Zorn reported for the Executive Committee. Development of the committee’s website is progressing
Curriculum Planning Committee
Rick Matthews reported for the CPC. The proposed reforms to the curriculum program will be brought before the faculty at the November meeting. Four courses were proposed and approved.
Quality of Life
Annette Duncan and Amy Haines reported for the Quality of Life Committee. The first annual Enhancement Award went to the Diversity Conference.
Various announcements came from Julio Rivera, Aaron Trautwein, Marilyn Ward, Herschel Kruger, Dick Sjoerdsma, Mimi Yang, Art Cyr, Lynn Loewen, Jeff Roberg, Mike Phegley, and the bookstore. Book orders are due by November 4.
