Meet the First Year Advisors

All freshmen at Carthage are assigned a First Year Advisor. First Year Advisors are responsible for each student’s academic advising needs, and are available for counseling in all areas of college life.

Favorite place on campus: “The bridges going over the creek that runs through campus. I love seeing community members kayaking by as I am walking to and from parking lots, and I would love to do that myself one day.”
Major in college: English Literature. “I love to read, write, and edit. I am a bookworm at heart.”
Best advice for a first-year student: “Pursue a major in a subject area that you love to learn about. It will keep you motivated through the tough times and set you up with a career that you find truly fulfilling!”
What she loves most about Carthage: “I love that the Carthage campus is an arboretum. How many colleges can say that? My father instilled a love of nature in me from an early age, so it’s something I appreciate.”
