Chamber Music Series

The Carthage Chamber Music Series is made possible with a grant from the Helen C. Smolenski Chamber Music Fund of the Racine Community Foundation. Concerts are held in A.F. Siebert Chapel. Free pre-concert lectures are held before most of the concerts in the H.F. Johnson Recital Hall.

Lakeside Band Festival

The goal of the Lakeside Band Festival is to provide an opportunity for area musicians to observe, engage and interact with world-class musicians. Each festival is conducted by a noted composer/conductor.

Lakeside Choral Festival

The Carthage College Music Department annually hosts over 1,000 singers from 25 choirs at the Lakeside Choral Festival. The event provides opportunities for high school choirs to work with Carthage choral faculty. During a clinic session, clinicians explore issues such as presentation, intonation, balance, pitch and rhythmic accuracy, tone, text analysis, and repertoire quality and appropriateness. The choirs are invited to perform at a noon hour informal concert. This is a non-competitive event, where the focus is on performing for each other and sharing artistic achievements.

Brahms Project

Commemorating the 120th anniversary of Johannes Brahms’ death, the Brahms Project features our newest piano faculty member, Wael Farouk, in a recital series highlighting Brahms’ vast output. In 10 recitals over two years, Farouk and the members of the Carthage Faculty Trio will present Brahms’ complete chamber music as well as the composer’s complete solo piano works.

Carthage Christmas Festival

Carthage College invites the community to celebrate the joy of the holiday season at the annual Carthage Christmas Festival, three performances of readings and music in the A. F. Siebert Chapel.
