    Professor Andrew (Tony) Pustina serves as assistant professor of exercise and sport science and is the primary advisor for students in the Sports Leadership Master of Education program. He also works as an assistant strength and conditioning coach for Women’s Soccer and Volleyball.

    Prof. Pustina has a background in athlete testing and monitoring, strength and power training, exercise physiology, and exercise prescription. He taught undergraduate exercise and sport science courses for a total of five years at Globe University, West Virginia University-Institute of Technology, and East Tennessee State University before beginning his career at Carthage in 2016. He has been coaching soccer and working in the strength and conditioning field since 2008.

    Prof. Pustina serves on the Research Scholarship and Creativity Committee. He also assists graduate and undergraduate students in completing their capstone projects.

    Prof. Pustina’s research interests include strength training and monitoring athletes using wearable GPS technology. Currently, Women’s Soccer, Women’s Lacrosse, and Men’s Soccer use this technology.
