Tiye Sherrod is originally from Chicago and has a passion for the city she grew up in. She went to the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor and majored in Economics. While there, she also had the opportunity to serve as a Resident Assistant and facilitate her own gender dialogue course with another undergraduate student. The time spent working in Intergroup Relations is the foundation for her passion surrounding social justice.
Over the last few years, she has worked as a college administrator in the area of Residence Life supervising Resident Assistants and overseeing residents who live in the halls. While working full time, she obtained her Master’s Degree in Higher Education from Capella University online.
She truly enjoys working with students and having the ability to make a positive change in students’ lives.
