Karly Kattenbraker joined the Office of Continuing Studies in October 2016 having previously served as a First Year Advisor in the Center for Student Success at Carthage. Originally from southern Illinois, she holds a bachelor’s degree in sociology from Vanderbilt University and a master’s degree in education with a concentration in college student development from DePaul University.
As the Associate Director for the Office of the Office of Continuing Studies, Karly is responsible for advising students in the Adult Undergraduate Studies program, including the 7-Week and Part Time Semester programs. She also coordinates various support functions related to the 7-Week program and other OCS programming, including writing the 7-Week course schedule and assisting with the onboarding of adjuncts hired to teach in the 7-Week program.
Prior to Carthage, Karly worked as an intern advisor in TRiO Student Support Services at DePaul University, where she advised first-generation, low-income students and helped them to successfully navigate their higher education experience. She also managed a service learning internship program for upperclassmen through the Steans Center for Community-based Service Learning at DePaul.
