How did you learn about your internship?
Professor Shields talked to me about the opportunity and connected me to Career Services.
Describe your internship.
I am a member of a team that worked together to find a beach head demographic, gathered information through interviews about the potential customer’s problems, generated solutions to their problems through ideation, chose a product to develop, and pitched our idea to the CEO.
What do you enjoy most about your internship? What are some of the challenges?
I enjoyed the networking opportunities offed up by The Commons. The most challenging aspect was working with a team from various backgrounds.
How does your internship fit with your long-term career goals?
My career goals are build a company that can eventually fund non-for-profits committed to helping people. Working with The Commons gave me a huge network to tap into. Working with Briggs more specifically, I was able to see a how a middle management brought together different people and made a functioning team.
During your internship search, how did you make yourself stand out to employers?
I made my self stand out by highlighted my experience in business, which is The Commons thought was amazing.
What did you find to be the most helpful during your internship search process?
Networking and taking the chance of contacting people who might have something your interested in.
Do you have any tips to share with other students about your experience?
Business Management is not all about making decision about a company; in fact a majority of the time it is how you mange people.
