Researching, and creating modules regarding various topics, meant to educate employees, both veteran and newly employed.
What do you enjoy most about your internship? What are some of the challenges?
I enjoy being given meaningful work to complete, not just busy work. We’re also introduced to a lot of people related to our interests for after-college work. The most challenging thing is definitely balancing the work given with schoolwork, and driving up to Milwaukee a few times a week.
How does your internship fit with your long-term career goals?
I’m learning how to do technical writing, and being introduced to people that work in the fields I’m interested in. We’re being allowed to make connections.
During your internship search, how did you make yourself stand out to employers?
I was friendly and professional when meeting with our potential supervisor. I made sure my resume was up-to-date, and had relevant information available.
What did you find to be the most helpful during your internship search process?
Just going up to Carthage Career Services and asking them for assistance was the most helpful, because they helped me to find opportunities that I might not have found myself.
Do you have any tips to share with other students about your experience?
Make sure you find an internship that fits right with what you want, don’t just take the first one that comes along! You’ll definitely have way more fun, and get more out of it, if it’s something you enjoy doing.
