Describe your internship.
-Utilizing the Product Management Tool for Jockey.com - Learned: How to implement markdowns and price changes and multi-pricing. - How to tag products for an optimized browsing experience. How to write and edit product copy & descriptions for use on Jockey.com - How to activate a product for selling on the site - Assisting in prepping the site for new product/catalog launches (tagged products, validated URLs were working as planned) - Developing an advanced knowledge of excel (working with web development team) - Conducting a weekly analysis and shared it with business leaders to understand competitive landscape and to be able to compare Jockey’s position within the market. Built bar-codes for testing in the new store ordering system
What do you enjoy most about your internship? What are some of the challenges?
“I enjoy the people that I am working with in Jockey.com Department. Through the mentor program and encouraging to meet fellow interns has made it an easy transition into a young professional job. Also, the “family” environment that Jockey encourages really does feel like Jockey Being Family (JBF).”
How does your internship fit with your long-term career goals?
“Working closely with the online retail team, search team, email/marketing team, and the developers team has given me a wide range of jobs that I could see myself doing as a future career.”
During your internship search, how did you make yourself stand out to employers?
“Dressing professional, being punctual, and being humble enough to learn from everyone in the department.”
What did you find to be the most helpful during your internship search process?
“Having a constant updated LinkedIn page .Carthage College’s Career Center was an excellent resource in order to utilize the Alumni network.”
Do you have any tips to share with other students about your experience?
“Use the resources Carthage and/or a current employer has to offer. Constantly expand your network and utilize them when you can.”
