As Director of Sponsored Programs, Aidana Lira works to expand the College’s efforts to find, secure, and manage grants that enhance the College’s services to students, faculty, and the community; and to protect the College through compliance.
Aidana came to Carthage from Gateway Technical College, where she had direct oversight of the grants management system (pre-award, post-award and compliance), including using lean six sigma methodologies for institutional policies and procedures to further support faculty, staff, and the overall institution. Prior to that, Aidana worked for Children’s Hospital, where she had direct oversight of all aspects of federally funded programming, including research and writing of proposals and reports.
Aidana has tremendous experience with community partnership and social services in the cities of Racine and Kenosha. She also has experience as English adjunct instructor and freelance researcher/writer. She is a Racine native and graduate of Washington Park High School. She earned her bachelor of arts in sociology/psychology from UW-Milwaukee, and her master of arts in English from Mount Mary College.
Aidana is fluent in Spanish and has one son, Quinten. She joined the Carthage staff in October 2014.
