How did you learn about your internship?

“I went to a presentation by PSN and was very interested in the services they had to offer.”

Describe your internship.

“PSN is a community-wide collaboration dedicated to strengthening families and helping them become resilient to child abuse and neglect. The Network provides an array of community-based services that aim to prevent formal involvement in the child welfare and juvenile justice systems.”

What do you enjoy most about your internship? What are some of the challenges?

“I enjoy the fact that each day is different and that you learn new things constantly based on what clients are being served. Some challenges are getting familiar with the services offered within the community.”

How does your internship fit with your long-term career goals?

“I would like to become involved in children and family services, so PSN is a perfect opportunity to learn more about this area of interest.”

During your internship search, how did you make yourself stand out to employers?

“I expressed my desire to further my career goals and included information about my former internship experiences.”

What did you find to be the most helpful during your internship search process?

“Discussing agencies with fellow classmates to distinguish what would be the best fit for me.”

Do you have any tips to share with other students about your experience?

“Make sure you pick an internship that fits into your future career goals! If you know what you like, stick with that to make sure that is where you see yourself down the road.”
