Give three words that sum up your internship experience.
Hands-on, Challenging, Educational
How did you learn about your internship?
“I came across this internship with the help of Carolynn Friesch in the Career Services office. She was very helpful with giving leads for internships.”
Describe your internship.
“Within my internship I get to see almost every aspect of the financial department within the company, from reviewing/approving expense reports to creating and/or paying off invoices to customers or vendors. Also, being assigned projects from the CEO.”
What do you enjoy most about your internship? What are some of the challenges?
“Being able to get a real hands on experience with the company is by far the most enjoyable part. Some challenges would be just balancing my schedule between classes and work.”
How does your internship fit with your long-term career goals?
“My internship fits my long-term career goals by giving me a sense of reality of what a real work day is within my field. Also, almost everything that I am doing within the internship I can put into my resume and that alone could help me win over future employers.”
During your internship search, how did you make yourself stand out to employers?
“During the internship search I made myself stand out by doing as many follow ups as possible. There is always that possibility that the hiring manager of a company could have passed right over your resume. Doing a follow up shows that you are dedicated to the opportunity.”
What did you find to be the most helpful during your internship search process?
“The Career Services office.”
