Celestine Ananda ’20 has been named 2018-19 Rossing Physics Scholar. The award is in recognition of her outstanding academic work in the Carthage Physics Department and her research activities with the NASA Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium-supported Carthage CubeSat team and the NASA-supported Carthage Microgravity team. As a Rossing Physics Scholar, Celestine will receive a $5,000 scholarship.

The Thomas D. Rossing Fund for Physics Education makes available scholarships annually for exemplary students in physics. The awards are made possible through generous gifts from Dr. Thomas D. Rossing who created the fund through the Foundation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

“The scholarship program endowed by Dr. Tom Rossing highlights the excellent quality of the physics programs in the Network of ELCA Colleges and Universities and celebrates the superb work being done by students majoring in physics at ELCA schools,” said the Rev. Mark Wilhelm, ELCA program director for colleges and universities.
