A new group for college students has been organized by the Racine Friendship Clubhouse, Inc., to help integrate people with mental illnesses into the economic and social community by increasing each participant’s self-reliance, self-esteem, and employability, thereby reducing relapse and hospitalization.

This group meets from 5:30 to 7 p.m. every Wednesday at the Racine Public Library. Each week  focuses on different mental wellness topics each month. This is an opportunity to share relatable experiences with other college students and participate in activities/discussion, make connections, and have fun.

Professor Cynthia Allen, Chair of the Exercise and Sport Science Department, will be a guest speaker for the group’s first meeting at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 21 in the banquet room above Dewey’s Restaurant and Sports Bar, 600 Main Street, Racine.
