Over two days in January, the Carthage Noyce Team — in conjunction with faculty from the Division of Natural and Social Sciences and the Nursing Department — hosted more than 100 sixth-grade Lincoln Middle School students on campus for science activities, lunch, and a tour of Carthage.

The day began with students rotating between four activities: a planetarium show, a math and art activity, a tour of the Carthage Nursing Learning Laboratories, and a study of polymers and liquid nitrogen.

This event provides students from a high-need school to experience awesome science and math activities and the chance to step foot on a college campus. The Lincoln students were curious, engaged, and so enthusiastic. Our faculty and student volunteers did a fantastic job working with the middle schoolers.
