In September, the sculpture, Figure, by Maureen Gray was installed outside the H. F. Johnson Center for the Fine Arts. This addition to Carthage’s collection of public art was made possible through the generosity of longtime Carthage patron Betsy Brown. This gift is the second work of art donated to the College, coming from the Sculpture Walk – Harbor Park. The installation marks another collaboration between the Arts Fund of the Kenosha Community Foundation and the College.

The Brown family has supported the College for many years, providing support for facility projects, scholarships, and athletics — as well as contributing ongoing annual fund support. Additionally, the late Howard Brown served on the College Board of Trustees for many years and Lucy Brown follows in her father’s footsteps as a current member of the board.

We are ever grateful to the Brown family for their leadership in the Carthage College community.
