Carthage College invites qualified applicants for a Clinical Facilitator position, in the Nursing Dept. The Clinical Facilitator is responsible for assisting undergraduate nursing students to successfully complete the Carthage College BSN program by planning, coordinating, and implementing student-centered, clinical instruction in the psychomotor skills lab, simulation laboratories, and affiliated clinical organizations, and providing formative and summative evaluations of the students’ performance. This position is an extension of the course director and supports student learning through Socratic questioning to connect theory principles with clinical judgment.
The College is currently looking for individuals who can teach maternal-child clinical sections. Clinical sections are six (6) hours a day, twice per week for fourteen (14) weeks.
Required Education, Experience and Licensure
A Master’s degree in nursing.
At least 2 years of clinical nursing experience in an applicable field of nursing.
Evidence of immunizations and CPR certification congruent with Department of Nursing policies.
Thorough knowledge of health assessment, medications, treatments, diagnoses, and the ability to relate these aspects of patient care to problem solving/critical thinking skill development in students.
Ability to operationalize the philosophy, mission, and values of the Department of Nursing.
An unencumbered license to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Wisconsin.
