If you’ve been on the Carthage campus for any amount of time, you know how many hours Carol puts into her job at Carthage. However, you may not have known that on top of always being available to fix any problem a member of the Carthage community has, she was completing coursework and writing a dissertation for her Ph.D. in Information Studies from UW-Milwaukee.

Carol’s dissertation is titled “The Information-Seeking Strategies of Humanities Scholars Using Resources in Languages Other Than English.” It is a qualitative study with 40 participants who all use non-English sources for their research, exploring how they identify and obtain primary and secondary sources. Professors from colleges and universities across the U.S. participated, representing 29 languages.

If you are interested in reading Carol’s research, her dissertation will be available in the Hedberg Library collection soon.

Let’s all congratulate Carol on this huge accomplishment and a job well done.
