Out of class notices for medical reasons

Please be advised that Rachel Blut, Director of Health Services and Campus Nurse, will now be coordinating out of class notices for medical reasons. This coordination was previously managed by Nick Winkler and the Dean of Students Office.

Official out of class notices for medical reasons will only be provided for students who have absences of three or more consecutive days and provide medical documentation regarding the absence.

Students who have absences of two days or less are expected to directly notify faculty of their absence and work with their faculty members to develop a plan to make up work missed during their absence.

In addition, as a reminder, the campus nurse does not write excuse notes for students seen in the Health and Counseling Center. Please do not send students to the Health and Counseling Center to obtain a “sick note” for an unexcused absence.
