The Carthage Mock Trial Team recently competed at the National Bell Tower Championship in Greenville, South Carolina. While there, the team had multiple scrimmages and practices before competing in four trials at Furman University, the Greenville City Municipal Courthouse, and the Greenville County Courthouse.

Team 1185 faced off against University of Richmond, University of Georgia, Boston University, and fellow CCIW school, Wheaton College. The team was also one of three competing for their first time in the national championship.

While the team didn’t make the top ten, they found out they are in the top 7 percent of over 600 teams nationwide. Yale University eventually won the championship. DaQuawn Bruce ’17 also won an All-American Witness Award after winning an All-Regional Award and All-ORCS Award.
