Teaching Commons: ‘Conducting SoTL Research in our Classrooms’

By: Dennis Munk

Time: 4:00pm - 5:00pm CST December 12

Location: Hedberg Library 223

Join us for Teaching Commons: “Conducting SoTL Research in our Classrooms” and learn about recommended practices for research design and IRB review from 4 to 5 p.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 12 in Hedberg Library 223.

The Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL) often involves research conducted within the structure and flow of an intact class, often that of the researcher. Therefore, consideration must be given to the design of the research, and to any ethical concerns regarding research involving our students. This session will focus on recommended practices for the design of your study and for completing the IRB process in manner that allows for publication of results.

Presenters: Leslie Cameron, Professor of Psychological Science, Chair, IRB Committee, and Dennis Munk, Professor of Psychological Science and Education, Director of the Teaching Commons

*This session was previously scheduled for Nov. 15.
