Homecoming Schedule

Friday, Sept. 29, 2017


5:30-6 p.m.

Groundbreaking Ceremony — The Tower Residence Hall
Between Madrigrano and Johnson Residence Halls
All are welcome to attend a groundbreaking ceremony for Carthage’s new residence hall, the Tower. Light refreshments will be served.  

6:15 P.m.

Pep Rally, Homecoming Royalty Coronation and Raising of Championship Banners
TARC Circle
Alumni can witness the crowning of the Homecoming King and Queen, participate in the pep rally, and cheer for Carthage Athletics! In case of inclement weather, the Pep Rally is held inside the TARC.

Alumni Breakfast Honoring 2017 Alumni Association Scholarship Recipients
Todd Wehr Center, Jockey Club
Complimentary breakfast, but reservations are required.
Start your day of Homecoming festivities enjoying breakfast and celebrating with our 2017 Alumni Association Scholarship recipients. The Alumni Association Scholarships are awarded to relatives of Carthage graduates and are funded entirely by gifts from alumni and friends of the College.

10 a.m.

Campus Tour
Departing from the Todd Wehr Center, Jockey Club
Join a campus tour immediately following the alumni breakfast. Enjoy hearing about campus life today and reminisce with other alumni about your time on campus.

10 A.M.

Men’s Soccer Alumni Game
Art Keller Field
Join Coach Steve Domin and other soccer alumni. (Please note: Campus Drive will close at 10:30 a.m. for the Homecoming Parade. Alumni who participate in the Men’s Soccer Alumni Game will not be able to leave campus via Campus Drive until after the parade is over.)

Connect with classmates, peruse old photographs, and search the digitized yearbook collection.

10:45 a.m.

“Future Carthage Alumni” Decoration Station
North Lot (formerly Lot H)
The Alumni Office provides streamers and other decorations for alumni and families to assist “Future Carthaginians” in decorating bikes, wagons, strollers, etc. Children, grandchildren, etc. are invited to join in the fun! Each entrant receives a gift.

11:30 a.m.

Homecoming Parade
Campus Drive
Featuring “Future Carthage Alumni,” the Alumni Council, student organization floats, sororities, fraternities, music, and more! A special viewing area along Campus Drive across from A. F. Siebert Chapel is available for 1967 and Gold Plus (50+) alumni and their guests.

12:30 p.m. until the end of the Game

Festival Grounds
South of Art Keller Field
Enjoy an expanded Festival Grounds experience, including food options provided by student organizations, face painting, balloon animals, a bouncy house, and more!

1 p.m.

Football: Carthage vs. Carroll University
Art Keller Field
Complimentary football game tickets for alumni may be picked up Friday or Saturday at the Information Station in the Campbell Student Union from noon to 6 p.m. Friday and 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Saturday. There is limited seating in the TARC Field House for those who wish to view the game indoors beginning at 1 p.m.

Carthage Choir 90th Reunion Dinner
Todd Wehr Center
Carthage Choir alumni are invited to celebrate 90 years of the program with a dinner before performing in the concert. Members of Carthage Choir will receive formal invitations to the dinner. Participants may register using the response card enclosed with their invitations, using the online registration system or by calling the Carthage Alumni Office at 800-551-1518 by Sept. 15. Reservations for the dinner are $25 per person.

Class of 1967 50th Class Reunion Reception and Dinner

Members of the Class of 1967 are invited to gather with fellow 1967 graduates at a special reunion dinner. Be sure to bring your photos and other mementos from your days as a Carthage student to share with the group. Business casual attire is appropriate. Members of the Class of 1967 will receive formal invitations to the dinner. Participants may register by using the response card enclosed with their invitations, or by calling the Carthage Alumni Office at 800-551-1518 by Sept. 15. Reservations for the dinner are $25 per person.

Gold Plus Reunion Reception and Dinner

Gather with fellow pre-1967 graduates (“Gold Plus”) during dinner and continue the celebration! Be sure to bring your photos and other mementos from your days as a Carthage student to share with the group! Casual Homecoming attire is appropriate. Participants may register using the response card enclosed with their invitations, or by calling the Carthage Alumni Office at 800-551-1518 by Sept. 15. Reservations for the dinner are $25 per person.

Sigma Alpha Chi 50th Reunion Reception and Dinner

Sigma Alpha Chi alumnae are invited to celebrate 50 years with a reception and buffet dinner. Be sure to bring your photos and other mementos from your days as a Carthage student to share with the group! Business casual attire is appropriate. Reservations are required. Cost is $25 per person and reservations can be made by calling 800-551-1518 by Sept. 15. Participants may also register by using the response card enclosed with their invitations.

Carthage Choir and Carthage Wind Orchestra Concert
A. F. Siebert Chapel
Celebrate Carthage Choir’s 90th Reunion. Pieces include The Windows, an anthem originally written for Carthage Choir for the 2010 New Student Convocation by Brian Schoettler ’11, and The Tides, by Tom Vignieri ’83. The Carthage Wind Orchestra will be performing this is most certainly true, the world premiere of a piece by James Stephenson commissioned by the Lutheran Colleges in honor of the 500th anniversary.
