Carthage Commencement Ceremony
11 a.m. — N. E. Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center Field House
Procession begins at 10:40 a.m.; Doors open at 9 a.m.
Carthage will bestow bachelor’s and master’s degrees to the Class of 2018 at 11 a.m. Sunday, May 27 2018, in the N. E. Tarble Athletic and Recreation Center Field House. The procession of graduates and faculty will begin at 10:40 a.m. People should be in their seats by 10:30 a.m.
Tickets are required for Commencement. All guests, including infants, require a ticket. Each graduate will receive five tickets when he or she completes the Alumni Office Information Survey and pays the cap and gown fee at Graduation Gear-Up on March 15, 2018, or in the Office of Institutional Advancement beginning March 16. Tickets will not be distributed before March 15, 2018.
The seats in the TARC are not reserved and are filled on a first-come, first-seated basis. The TARC will open at 9 a.m. Large video screens help to ensure everyone will be able to see the Commencement ceremony.
Special Needs Seats: A space is reserved at the front of the room for people in wheelchairs or those who cannot stand. Only one other member of your party may accompany each person requiring seating in this area. A lot of standing occurs during the ceremony. Guests in wheelchairs may wish to arrive early to ensure they have a front row seat so they may see all the activities during the ceremony.
Assisted Listening Devices: A limited number of devices to aid in hearing the speakers during the Commencement ceremony will be available in the Field House at the sound desk located by the southeast wall and will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.

The Field House is located on the third level of the TARC. There are no restrooms available in the Field House. The closest restrooms are one flight below. For people who cannot manage the stairs, there is an elevator available.
We recommend parking in the 14th Avenue Lot, located close to campus on 14th Avenue and 31st Street. A shuttle service will operate to and from this lot from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Limited parking is available on campus. A shuttle service will operate on campus from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Drop-off areas, located outside the main entrances to the building, are provided for you to drop off and pick up guests who cannot walk from the parking area. Limited parking spaces are available for disabled guests near the TARC. A disabled license plate or parking placard will be required to park in these areas. (See campus map.)
