Carthage has more than 120 student groups and organizations through which students can get involved, explore possible careers, meet other students, work closely with faculty advisors, and perform community service. The following organization is popular with classics students.
Eta Sigma Phi
Carthage is the home of the Theta Omicron chapter of this national organization for outstanding undergraduates in classics. Students are eligible to travel to the national conference, present their research, and participate in the organization at the national level. Students also can apply for scholarships to study overseas.
The Classics Department also belongs to other national Classics organizations such as the American Philological Association (APA) and the Classical Association of the Middle West and South (CAMWS), which offer opportunities for undergraduates to present research at national conferences, as well as scholarships for travel and study.
