An internship will be an important component of the Carthage in Chicago experience. The Office of Career Services, in partnership with faculty, will work with selected students to identify and secure internships, and some of these internships may require special application. Students are also encouraged to identify and work to secure internships independently.
- It is important to note that the process of securing an internship requires active engagement on the part of the student. For best consideration, it is recommended that the process begin as soon as the student is accepted into the program, and while our hope is that internships be secured three months in advance of the start of the program, the reality is that some employers may not make decisions until August or later.
- Full-time internships will receive up to eight credits.
- All internships must have a faculty advisor and be registered through the Office of Career Services and the Office of the Registrar.
- If a student does not participate in an internship, he or she must propose and receive approval to pursue a major project.
