Character Quest

Carthage offers success coach training and leadership development for upperclassmen through Character Quest, a professional leadership development program founded and directed by two Carthage graduates.

The new Character Quest coaches are trained in peer mentoring the week before new students arrive on campus.

Leadership Development

The Character Quest leadership development program at Carthage provides students with a year-long leadership and character development experience. The program includes: an outdoor learning experience to build character, teamwork, and leadership skills; classroom discussions; personal coaching; and hands-on leadership training through on-campus activities. Students who successfully complete the Character Quest program can earn a leadership certificate.

Success Coach Training

All Carthage freshmen are paired with a Success Coach to guide them during their first year of college. Coaches are Carthage sophomores, juniors, and seniors who have completed intensive training through the Character Quest program. Success Coaches help first-year students get involved in campus activities, utilize campus resources, and connect with their professors and other students.
