Student Athlete Advisory Committee

The Student-Athlete Advisory Committee was developed to promote student-athlete welfare, opportunity, leadership, and a positive image. Two representatives from each sport on campus are brought together to make up SAAC.

This committee was created to provide a voice for student-athletes, gain insight on their experiences, and attain their input on the rules, regulations, and policies that affect student-athlete lives.

Presently, there are separate national SAAC groups for NCAA Divisions I, II, and III. NCAA legislation mandates that all member institutions have a SAAC group on their respective campuses. Further, NCAA legislation requires that all member conferences have a SAAC. The College Conference of Illinois and Wisconsin (CCIW) formed the first league-wide Student-Athlete Advisory Committee giving Carthage student-athletes the opportunity to learn about conference and national athletic issues.

Carthage SAAC now meets twice a month to discuss issues that impact Carthage student- athletes at the local, conference and national level.
