Transfer Open House
Attend a Transfer/Spring Open House geared specifically toward students transferring to Carthage in the spring or fall, or freshmen starting at Carthage in the spring. These events include a presentation, campus tour, and a free lunch in the Carthage cafeteria. Check-in begins at 9:30 a.m. The program begins at 10 a.m. and concludes with an optional lunch at noon.

Transfer Tuesday Visits
A typical Transfer Tuesday visit includes meeting with a transfer coordinator and a student-led tour of campus. When requested in advance, we can also arrange for you to sit in on a class, meet with a professor, and/or meet with a coach. Appointments are available at 9 a.m., 11 a.m., 1 p.m., and 3 p.m. Scheduling your Transfer Tuesday visit is required.

Competitive Scholarships for Transfer Students
Carthage awards four competitive scholarships each year to new incoming transfer students who show determination, intelligence, and motivation:
- One full-tuition and one 75%-tuition Fall Transfer Scholarship
- One full-tuition and one 75%-tuition Spring Scholarship
Each scholarship is renewable for up to three years. Scholarship competitions are held on campus and include an interview and essay.

Carthage Tuition, Fees, Merit Scholarships and Financial Aid
A college education is an investment in your future. Some students are hesitant to consider attending a private college, thinking the cost is beyond their reach. That’s not the case. At Carthage, every student and family qualifies for some type of aid, and 90 percent take advantage of this support. The average financial aid package (grants, scholarships, loans, and college work study) covers a substantial amount of the cost of full-time enrollment. Carthage’s no-need scholarship program enables even students from families with higher incomes to be eligible for financial assistance.

Carthage provides on-campus housing for all students under 23 years of age. Residence halls are equipped with study lounges, laundry facilities, as well as cable television, Internet connections, and Wi-Fi in every room.

Are you a College of Lake County or Gateway Student?
If you attend the College of Lake County or Gateway, you may view and print a transfer credit and equivalency guide. To obtain an official transcript evaluation, apply for admission online and have all official transcripts from each institution previously attended forwarded to Carthage.
