It’s J-Term, so we asked members of the Carthage community: “What do you like most about J-Term classes?” We also asked people to tell us their favorite thing about their current J-Term adventure.

Professor Mimi Yang

Professor of Modern Languages and Asian Studies

What do you like most about J-Term classes?
“During J-Term, I get to teach topics that are more personable and less ‘orthodox’ than the ones in spring or fall. How to put different and seemingly distant cultural perspectives in dialogue? How dialogues like this help forge worldviews, broaden knowledge base, and build character in one’s formative years and beyond? These are the quests shaping one’s life and career. The current J-Term class, ‘Intercultural Dialogues on Personal Growth,’ gives me a platform to share my personal quests with students and grow together with them. Love it!”
